Family LO

I made this LO using the latest kit from MCS. I just LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this kit! The colors are just beautiful and the papers so inspirational. This is a picture of my husband with his sister during a visit this summer.  I got the chipboard fence from my Favorite Local SB Store Paper Wings.  I loved distressing it and making it pretty with bling and flowers. This ones for you Nora Anne! Hope it inspires you...don't forget to check their kits out.

Once Upon A Sketch Challenge

Here is my LO for the Sketch and Journalling challenge:

I chose this picture of Me with my daughters Lauren and Madison. My journaling is about how much I enjoy being their mom and how much they mean to me. I really liked both the sketch and journaling on this challenge.

November 15th Challenge

Journalling criteria: This time the journalling criteria focuses on YOU as a woman OR ANY female in your life. What is the best thing about being a woman? Motherhood? Shopping? Make Up? Girls nights? Gossip? Your journalling can be as long as you wish and in any language, but you must journal at least 2 sentences on the best part of being a woman.

You must combine the journalling criteria with this sketch..

My Creative Sketches-Sketch 2

I've been a very busy girl scrapbooking this week... And loved every minute of it! Here is my take on Sketch #2. I used my most recent kit fro MCS to make it. I just LOVE this kit and found it so inspirational to use with pictures....

This is a picture of me and my daughters puppy Bailey. Lauren makes Bailey the cutes Tu Tu's for every occasion...this one was for our local Irish Fest. Needless to say Bailey and her Tu Tu were a HUGE hit, Laure took this picture of me with her while enjoying some awesome Music.

A Million Memories - Super Exciting!

WoW! Imagine my surprise when I got the e mail from Jen @ AMM telling me about my LO and the sketch she made! I'm so excited they like it so much and I just love her sketch and hope people have fun making it their own!

Sketchy Thursday

Hey ladies! It's that time again. I have chosen a LO from the AMM gallery and turned it into a sketch. I chose this LO by Janet G...

How cute is that little puppy face, and I love the design too. It's been a while since I've used a large circle on one of my LO's and I think it's about time to do it again.

Here's the sketch...

A Very Productive Week.

I finally had a chance to sit down and play with some of my new papers, collections and kits this past week. It felt good to get four Layouts done and get my hands on my new goodies!

This LO is of my daughters new puppy Bailey - I love the colorful and playful patterns in this Echo Park Life is Good collection that I got in one of My Creative Scrapbooking Monthly kits. Isn't Bailey just Adorable???

Journey - This LO is of my dd and her bf, I was inspired by the sign post do use this Websters Pages Spring Market Collection, I love the colors and the outdoor/nature feel of the paper line.

Unique- The Websters Pages Trend Setter Collection seems like it was created just for my dd Madison! She loves fashion, she is artistic, happy and loveable....I tried my hand at some hand stitching on this lo and like it a lot. This collection is fun, girly, and inspirational!

Lastly is the MME LO below....I just love working with MME and all their fun coordinating embellies!

MME Layout Challenge

My take on the layout - titled Focus.

My New Space!

I never thought I'd really get a whole room in my house all for myself...so after a lot of work, paint, new floors, and trim, my husband built me an awesome desk, hung my shelves, and new curtain rods, and fixed my ceiling fan.  After days of organizing, cleaning out and sorting through all of my supplies...I finally got in the room, organized and creating! I never thought when I set out it would be so much work...but so worth it! It's still a work in progress but here's a couple pictures of what I've done so far.
Shelves for supplies and decorations.

My work space

More supplies

Paper crafted J for Janet

the last of what I need to put away

Cozy Corner where I plan on putting a Nice Big Comfy Chair, when I feel like cozying up with a good book, still have some stuff to put away first!

Closet for more storage of those less used items and other crafty stuff. The painting next to it was one of my moms. I plan on putting her art work through out the room.

Keeping Busy

With my new Scrapbooking Room under way I'm finding it a whole lot easier to create! My latest project was a 7 Gypsies Print Tray for my dd Madison. She recently got a new room and gave it a make over going with a Safari Theme. I used Bo Bunny's new Zoology collection, I added some flowers, pearls and lace because she's such a girly girl and loves fashion, and pretty things. I had fun making it, and she loved it!

I inked and stampled my chipboard pieces, I made the brown ribbon flower, used grunge board and my cricut to create the word sweet and the swirly leaves and inked or distress painted. The lower right hand corner was an awesome stamp I just bought for the Fabulouse price of $2.00! Love a great deal! Thanks for looking.

Just Breathe....

WoW! It's so hard to believe that almost 2 months has gone by since my last post.  I guess it took me some time to gather up the broken pieces and start to put them back together again. No one can prepare you for, describe or predict how you will handle the loss of a loved one, but with love, support, and time you do begin to heal.  Last week I went for an incredible massage and experienced incredible karma, and inner peace. Since that moment I keep telling myself how blessed my life is, it is ok to be happy, and when in doubt....Just Breathe. I'm honestly starting to feel better and like my self again.
I'm happy to say that my little scrap book room has come along quite nicely too! What a little slice of heaven I have. I'm able to find my mojo for creativity again. I worked on and finished two projects this week alone, and even when I'm not crafting...I'll just go back and sit, reflect, admire, browse my supplies, search the web etc.....its just so peaceful, relaxing and theraputic for me. I have organized out the wazoo! And honestly had no idea the amount of stuff I had accumulated! YIKES! I still have a little more decorating to do and will post pictures as soon as I'm done. I'll work on getting up my latest two projects also. Thanks for stopping by....it feels good to get back into the swing of things...

Cloudy Days...Silver Linings

It is with a heavy heart that I enter this post.  The past couple weeks have been very busy, stressful and difficult for myself and my family. About 5 weeks ago my moms health took a turn for the worse and on Easter Sunday I jumped on a last minute flight to FL to visit with her in the hospital. While there I had a very nice visit, spent quality time and was able to bring my mom home with the help of hospice...her health had improved as well as her spirit and outlook...only to have her pass away 8 days later...I had hoped with all my heart to get down there to visit again with my girls. She was one incredible lady who was stronger than anyone else I have ever known.  She had a wonderful week at home with a visit from my sister and another close friend. She spent everday enjoying her beautiful back yard garden, the outside kitties she took care of and her friends. I find my greatest peace knowing that her last week was so peaceful and joyful and without pain or fear...One of the many gifts of life that I got from my mom was her creativity. She was always painting, woodcrafting, card making, sewing, or crocheting something new...and passed all of her talent and knowlege onto me.
So as I sit and admire some of her work that is displayed all around my house, and compare it to someof my own...I Smile. Because I know she lives on in my heart and through the love of things we shared in common, like our love of flowers, birds, butterflies and nature.  As luck would have it I finally have an empty spare room in our home that I am turning into a Craft Room.  When I thought of colors and decor my mom came to mind...and so my room will be like my garden...where creativity will bloom...I will accent it with beautiful birdhouses, butterflies, birdcages and flowers...so in honor of my mom and her creativity I will find my mojo in my new craft room my creative garden. I will update with pictures as I make progress....here is my first project to display...hope you like it...and thanks for taking the time to read about my mom and her final journey....it's my priveledge to be her daughter and name sake.      Janet May O'Hara Bright   8/4/38 - 5/7/11     RIP momma I sure will miss you....

This project was the perfect challenge from my girls over at http://www.paperwingsnj.blogspot.com/ it helped me to get the motivation to do this birdhouse I had been staring at for a couple months now. Notice the pinks, blues, brown, black and birds! Think I covered it ALL!

Prom Time

While the rest of the world was watching the wedding of William and Kate and their fairy tale wedding on Friday....I had the priveledge of getting my own real life princess ready for her first prom.... All the shopping and excitement and planning finally came together for Madisons Junior Prom. After a long day of flowers, nails, hair, make up and fussing....Madison looked absolutely Beautiful! I think the smile on her face is priceless. She had a great time laughing and dancing the night away with Gill and her friends. So, in our life on  this day... our own fairly tale came true, she was off to her own ball!  I just can't wait to scrapbook these pictures and the memories of the day!
